Proud Italian American Anthony Iapoce has joined the Boston Red Sox as senior hitting coordinator in their player development department.

He was previously the hitting coach of the Rangers (2016-2018) and Cubs (2019-2021). Iapoce was also a special assistant to the GM in Chicago from 2013-2015, where he oversaw the organization’s minor league hitting program.

The New York native played ball at Lamar University and was selected in the 33rd round of the 1994 MLB Draft. He was with the Brewers’ organization from 1994 to 2000 and with the Marlins organization in 2002 and 2003.
