It came to our attention that a professional baseball player liked a comment on social media that highlighted a slur towards Italians. Even worse, the slur was directed at an Italian American baseball writer. The Italian American Baseball Foundation is appalled by this blatant anti-Italian discrimination. There is no place for any racism of any kind in society, on social media or in the game of baseball. We take pride in the Italian Americans associated with the game we love and hope they can work without judgement on our heritage and culture.
