Italian American Baseball Foundation and National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame Announce Partnership

Representatives from IABF and NIASHF Peter Caliendo (l. to r.), Joe Quagliano, Ron Onesti and Chris Vaccaro in Chicago.

The Italian American Baseball Foundation and National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame have formed a partnership based on their collective interests in promoting and building Italian American heritage through sports.

Both organizations have agreed to a partnership founded in education and community. The immediate goal will be to host youth baseball and softball clinics in the Chicago area and several major cities in the U.S. The organizations will also aim to benefit with cross-marketing between their digital and social platforms and at physical events.

IABF President/Founder Joe Quagliano: “We’ve long admired the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame and its care for preserving Italian American culture and heritage. We’re stronger together and are proud to partner with them to help grow the games of baseball and softball and build our footprint in the Chicago area and beyond.”

NIASHF President Ron Onesti: “The NIASHF has a focus of expanding its reach not only on a national basis but also to a greater international presence. That, coupled with our mission statement element of supporting youth sports, makes this partnership with the IABF exciting and a 1+1=3 equation.”

As part of the partnership, Chicago-based and internationally known Italian American baseball coach Peter Caliendo will be instrumental in helping create baseball and softball experiences at camps and clinics. He has been a friend of both IABF and NIASHF for many years and will be integral in the success of the youth experience.

Peter Caliendo, President/GM Caliendo Sports: “This is a great thing to see, two fantastic Italian American sports organizations joining forces to help better Italian American sports heritage and culture. As a proud Italian American I am so honored to be part of this great partnership.”
