Former Team Italy catcher Vinny Rottino is joining the Brewers’ broadcast team for pre and post game analysis.

Rottino, who was on the 2009 WBC Italian team, is a Racine native.

“I grew up a Brewers fan and I was lucky enough to get a shot to play for the Brewers,” Rottino told Milwaukee magazine. “I bounced around for a long time. Grinding for a long time. Really passionate about this game. I think I’ll have some pretty unique insights.”

Rottino spent time playing with the Brewers, Marlins, Mets and Indians before spending time in the Nippon and Korean leagues. His last season as a player was in 2014 and he spent the last four years as a scout for the Brewers.
