Dom Scala Baseball Camp Continues to Make Difference with Support from the Italian American Baseball Foundation

For decades, Dom Scala Baseball Camp has given young athletes across the tri-state area quality instruction, sportsmanship and a lasting love of baseball. Sponsored by the Italian American Baseball Foundation, the camp develops skills, confidence, teamwork and respect while creating lasting friendships and memories.

IABF Officials Travel to Florida to Support Italy National Program Ahead of World Baseball Classic

IABF President Carmine Gangone and Vice President Chris R. Vaccaro visited Team Italy during Early Camp in Port Charlotte, where the squad trained at the Tampa Bay Rays’ complex and played four exhibition games. The visit reinforced IABF’s mission to support Italy’s players and coaches while strengthening the program’s preparation and visibility.

Dom Scala Hosts Three Weeks of IABF Sponsored Youth Baseball Camps

We’ve said it before, and will say it again… Dom Scala does a tremendous job on youth Baseball development. He’s passionate, proud, and has a resume to go along with his kind, compassionate, and innovative baseball instruction. Dom Scala Voted to IABF Executive Board

Dom Scala, a former Yankees player and coach, New York State Baseball Hall of Famer, and longtime Adelphi University coach, has joined the IABF Executive Board as a voting member. The longtime advisory board member is expected to contribute to IABF’s future growth.

Cincinnati Reds Hire Italian American Terry Francona as Manager

The Cincinnati Reds hired Italian American and former Italian American Baseball Foundation honoree Terry Francona as manager. Francona, 65, returns after leaving the Guardians following the 2023 season, bringing a 1,950-1,672 record across 23 seasons and World Series titles with the Red Sox in 2004 and 2007.

Italian American Baseball Foundation Supports Marco Mazzieri for FIBS President

The Italian American Baseball Foundation endorsed Marco Mazzieri for president of the Federation of Italian Baseball and Softball, citing his playing and coaching experience, leadership, commitment to developing talent, expanding the sport, and strengthening its community in Italy.

Don Landolphi Named 2024 IABF Ambassador Award Honoree

Don Landolphi will receive the Italian American Baseball Foundation Ambassador Award for his contributions to baseball in Italy. A longtime coach and author, he helped Team Italy win its first European Baseball Championship in 1975 and also supported baseball for the visually impaired.

Paul Mainieri Named 2024 IABF Collegiate Award Honoree

College baseball coaching legend Paul Mainieri is this year’s IABF Collegiate Award honoree. With 1,500-plus wins, Mainieri is one of the winningest coaches in college baseball history. He has held head coaching positions at St. Thomas, Air Force, Notre Dame, and, most notably, LSU, where he led the Tigers to a College World Series.
