IABF Selected for NYS Baseball Hall of Fame

The Italian American Baseball Foundation continues to grow and influence the game of baseball domestically and globally. The organization has been selected for induction into the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame in 2024 for its efforts. The announcement was made by Rene LeRoux, Executive Director of the Hall.

“The IABF is honored to be inducted into the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame,” said Joe Quagliano, IABF President/Co-Founder. “We greatly appreciate the nomination and look forward to collaborating with Rene and the Hall on future baseball activities. Our board works extremely hard to fulfill and grow our mission, and it’s a rewarding experience when others recognize the effort.”

This is a unique distinction because it recognizes the organization and its executive board for the work they have collectively done by building a scholarship fund, running baseball clinics in Italy, organizing a record number of Italian heritage games across Major League Baseball, working as a strategic partner with the Federation of Italian Baseball and Softball, and hosting a gala that is now drawing 450-attendees to see the biggest Italian American names in the game.

Aside from Quagliano, IABF executive board members include Vice President/Co-Founder Carmine Gangone, Treasurer Joe DiMartino, Secretary Mark Cardillo, and trustees Frank Catalanotto, Natalie Spedaliere, and Chris R. Vaccaro.

IABF is joining several Italian American players and supporters who are in the Hall, including Lee Mazzilli, John Franco, Mike Pagliarulo, Michael Kay, Dom Scala, Lou Bernardi, Sal Agostinelli, Tino Martinez, Gary Perone, and many others.

The Hall is located in Gloversville, NY, and the next induction ceremony will occur in November 2024. IABF will share more information about the induction as we get closer to the event.
