Italian American Legend Rocky Colavito Honored with Statue in Cleveland

Rocky Colavito received the ultimate honor when a statue was erected in Cleveland’s Little Italy to honor his legacy.

The event took place on Colavito’s 88th birthday and he was in attendance to celebrate the monumental occasion.

“Cleveland is my favorite city in the world,” he said. “I am thankful God chose me to play in Cleveland.”

Colavito was nine-time all-star and hit 374 home runs. He led the AL in homers in 1959, and in RBI in 1965. Colavito once hit four homers in one game on June 10, 1959.

He is an inductee of the Cleveland Indians Hall of Fame.
