Tony LaRussa Passes John McGraw for Second on All-Time Manager Wins List

Tony LaRussa is now the second winningest manager in baseball history. With the White Sox victory on Sunday, June 6, the hall of fame manager surpassed John McGraw with win No. 2,764.

“It’s real emotional for me that it started here and it’s ended up here,” he said after the game.

After coming out of retirement, the 76-year-old has enjoyed more success this season as the White Sox currently sit in first place in the AL Central through the beginning of June.

LaRussa has been an inspiration to the Italian American community.
